UPS is a company with a proud past and an even brighter future
UPS’s main international hub, UPS Worldport, is located in Louisville, Kentucky. It is the fifth busiest airport in the world by cargo traffic based on preliminary statistics from ACI and the third busiest in the U.S. behind FedEx’s Memphis Superhub and Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport. It is ahead of its competitors DHL and FedEx. The company is also one of the largest private employers in the United States.
The American Messenger Company initially focused on package delivery to retail stores, with special delivery mail delivered to its largest client, the U.S. Post Office. In 1913, the company acquired a Model T Ford as its first delivery vehicle. Casey and Ryan merged with a competitor, Evert McCabe, to form Merchants Parcel Delivery. In 1922, UPS acquired a common carrier service from a company in Los Angeles, California. This made UPS one of the only companies in the United States to offer common carrier UPS customer service. At first, Common Carrier was only limited to a small area around Los Angeles, but by 1927, it had expanded to areas up to 125 miles outside the city. In 1924, a conveyor belt system was debuted for the handling of packages for UPS operations.
In January 2021, UPS announced its decision to sell UPS Freight, its less-than-truckload freight business, to TFI International, a Canadian transport and logistics company, for $800 million. The move was aimed at allowing UPS to focus on small-package delivery. At the time of the sale, UPS Freight had around 14,500 employees, with approximately 11,000 of them represented by the Teamsters Union.

I can always depend on UPS customer service. Even If I have a delivery issue. They are so responsive and on top of it. Their tracking system is very accurate. With today circumstances and moral values are depleting. I feel that UPS deserves more credit. Their drivers, handlers customer service, all the departments. They keep America moving. I appreciate this company and will trust them with my shipping items.
I called 800-742-5877 to make a complaint because we ordered a next-day air delivery on Friday and we were told today that we were not getting it until Monday. Arjay was sweet and understood my complaint because we were expecting a passport and we were leaving tomorrow out of the country. He saved us 1500.00 which we were going to lose if we didn’t get the package. We were able to go pick up the package at the location after we made this complaint.

Had two packages scheduled for delivery today. Got one, and they brought the other to the complex office. I work more hours than the complex is open and also 2 hours away. I will never have time to pick it up from the office. PLEASE LEAVE MY PACKAGES AT MY DOOR. IT WAS A $70 TOOL and now I’m going to go buy one at harbor freight and have to eat the cost of the tool I ordered because I can’t pick it up and am on a schedule.
I just want to thank all the drivers who delivered my packages. I am a disabled veteran but with all three I was expecting they made sure they brought my packages inside my home. Thank you so much. You do not get a lot of praise but I know all three drivers were very professional and courteous. So again, thank you.
