In April 2020, T-Mobile US acquired Sprint Corporation, making it a subsidiary of T-Mobile. The acquisition led to immediate changes in leadership, background, and stock; however, customer-side changes happened over time.

The Sprint brand was officially discontinued on August 2, 2020, with all retail, customer service, and other company branding switching to the T-Mobile brand. Billing had already shown the T-Mobile brand. Additionally, new rate plans were introduced for all new and existing customers from both companies. Customers were guaranteed to stay in their existing plan for a minimum of three years if they didn’t opt for a new T-Mobile plan. In the summer of 2023, T-Mobile completed the migration of all its customers with previous Sprint account statuses, officially phasing out the Sprint brand.

Before the T-Mobile merger, I had Sprint and had to add a SIM card to my phone. In addition, the reception had lag, voicemails were delayed – received messages from 6/18 only on 6/27. Furthermore, the call to report took 18 minutes on hold before getting disconnected. Consequently, no callback was received for number confirmation.
